Naomi is a Certified Yoga Teacher and a duly ordained Preist trained by the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. For more than 30 years, she has applied her 200-Hour training offering classes at various locations in Illinois including starting yoga classes at Grant Hospital in Chicago and serving as an assistant teacher for the Temple's Hatha Yoga Teacher Training.
When Naomi and her husband, Kevin, moved to Springfield, Illinois, she continued her practice, starting free classes for St. John's Hospital and the Prairie Heart Institute. Due to travel requirements with her professional employment, she started teaching part-time at locations such as a nature center- Lincoln Memorial Garden, and at The Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist center. Naomi's professional career led her to interests in journalism and public relations. She has worked for United Press International, WGN-TV as well as radio, and has written for various loval Illinois publications. For several years she served as co-editor of YogaChicago. While living in Springfield, she earned her Masters degree in Communications and was employed by the State of Illinois conducting outreach and trainings for several programs. Naomi and Kevin recently retired to Tucson where she hopes to resume her yoga practice and share knowledge with others. |
