Lydia McDowell
Lydia is a certified yoga teacher and breathwork facilitator with a passion for guiding wellness experiences close to nature. She first came across yoga as a way to balance the intensity and busyness of her work and personal life. She has continued studying yoga for over ten years.
It was on a yoga retreat in Costa Rica where Lydia participated in a breathwork session where she felt the transformative power of rest. By simply relaxing and breathing in a steady rhythm, she experienced a deep sense of peace and an awareness of intuitive messages flowing in. The session prompted further study which led to a 200-hour yoga teacher training. Lydia followed the training with a two-year Breath Mastery program, which included Rebirthing Breathwork, then a 21-day intensive at Baja Biosana Retreat Center. Lydia recently studied Qigong breathing techniques with Robert Peng at the Omega Institute. She is also credits her primary teachers Sondra Ray, Wim Hof, and Patrick McKeown for additional techniques she learned. Through all of her studies, Lydia believes that the breath itself continues to be the most precious teacher of all, revealing the seeds of the unshakeable truth within. She has been sharing breath practices through workshops and regular classes since 2018 and currently teaches asana, meditation, breathwork, and Qigong at Miraval in Tucson. |
