About the Yoga Connection Teacher Training Program Instructors
The Yoga Connection is a nonprofit yoga organization under the direction of Priscilla Potter, that has been teaching yoga, meditation, Kriya Yoga and Hatha Yoga Teachers Training for over 20 years. Our instructors are knowledgeable, dedicated individuals who bring to this course a wealth of insight, compassion, and experience in the classroom, as well as their own personal practice. They demonstrate through their teaching and their presence how yoga can affect your life and the lives of those you teach.

Priscilla has been training yoga teachers for over 20 years. She is the founder and director of the Yoga Connection, a nonprofit service organization dedicated to service through yoga. Her inspirational and intuitive teaching style is supported by 30 years of training and over 25 years of teaching. She is a professional astrologer, meditation instructor and a lifetime student and teacher of Kriya Yoga.

Becky Thomas, E-RYT 500
Registered Yoga Teacher
Becky started practicing yoga in 1992. She completed her 200 hour level teacher training at the Yoga Connection in 2002. In 2005, Becky
completed her training at the 500 hour level with the International Yoga College. Becky is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500hour level and is a member of the Arizona Yoga Association. Becky teaches classic Hatha yoga with emphasis on the breath. Her area of special interest is Ayurveda, the traditional healing system of India. She has studied yoga in India at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram and continues to study at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque.
The beauty of yoga is that it is adaptable, modifiable and individual. Yoga should not be one size fits all! Ginny Beal, RYT 500
Registered Yoga Teacher
Ginny has practiced yoga since 1994, when her husband Tom suggested they take classes together. In 1996, seeking a deeper connection to the yogic path, she completed her 200-hour hatha yoga teacher certification with Priscilla Potter, Swami Mahatarananda of the Kriya yoga lineage, and has been teaching since her training. She received her 500-hour certification through the International Yoga College in October 2005, with a specialization in Applied Yoga Sutras, and is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level. She honors all of her teachers including Priscilla Potter, Natasha Korshak, Lilias Folan and Rama Jyoti Vernon.
Ginny enjoys the wonderful community of instructors and students at the Yoga Connection. Yoga has enriched her life in all ways, and provides a nice balance to her background in Chemistry and current profession as a science education evaluator. Ginny feels blessed to be a vehicle for the teachings to which she has been exposed, and thinks that approaching yoga with a beginner’s mind allows an unfolding of the essence of yoga. Johndennis Govert Roshi, MBA
_Johndennis holds three meditation lineage transmissions: Zen priest and roshi from Matsuoka Zengagu Roshi; Kriya yoga swami from Goswami Kriyananda, and Tibetan Nyingma lama from Master Boma Meitzu Quan. Govert Roshi is the founding dharma teacher of Daikakuji, Great Enlightenment Zen Buddhist Temple in Phoenix. He practices and teaches several Ways which are mystic arts that open and widen the meditative path. Among these are ikebana, chanoyu (tea), zen gardens, and shodo (Japanese calligraphy).
Govert Roshi is especially adept at the Ways of astrology and feng shui teaching and consulting in both these arts. Johndennis is the author of Feng Shui: Art And Harmony Of Place. He practices and teaches qi gong and qi healing, arts that he learned directly from many highly accomplished Chinese, Tibetan and Japanese masters. Govert Roshi teaches this wealth of ancient tradition in a deep, light-hearted and direct way to overcome practical and spiritual obstructions on the path to bliss, liberation and enlightenment.

Sue Ferguson, E-RYT 500, PYT, RN
Registered Yoga Teacher, Professional Yoga Therapist, Registered Nurse
Sue began teaching yoga to preschoolers as a warm-up for creative movement. She has been teaching and practicing yoga since 1987. Priscilla Potter was her first formal teacher and mentor. She completed the Yoga Connection teacher training in 1994 and is now one of the teachers for the program. She has also been influenced by Gary Phelan, Lilias Folan and Christina Davis and Joseph & Lilian LePage. Sue's style of teaching is eclectic and draws from many sources, primarily Kriya Yoga & Kripalu Yoga.
She is a registered nurse and balances teaching basic safe alignment with allowing students to experience the flow of energy. Sue teaches in order to share with her students the experience of yoga as a journey of self-discovery. Sue is also a certified Yoga Therapist and Director of La Mariposa Therapeutic Yoga LLC.

Anthony Tribe, PhD., RYT 200
Registered Yoga Teacher
Anthony lives in Tucson, and has been practicing and teaching yoga since the 1970s. He has a doctorate in Indian religious and philosophical traditions from Oxford University, and taught for seven years at the University of Montana where he was a professor of Asian Studies. Anthony was a faculty member of the Providence Institute, Tucson, where he combined his academic and Yoga backgrounds to teach Sanskrit, Yoga Philosophy and the Bhagavad Gita in their Yoga Teacher Training program. At present he teaches yoga and Sanskrit, leads workshops on the Yoga Sutras, and works as an independent scholar.
Ashley Leal, E-RYT 200, CPT
Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Personal Trainer
Ashley began practicing yoga in 1997 and completed her yoga teacher training at the Yoga Connection in 2004. In 2008, Ashley received her Personal Training Certification (CPT). In 2010 Ashley successfully completed her Yin Yoga Training.
She was the Yoga Connection's studio manager until 2010, during which time she helped to develop numerous programs and expand studio offerings. Ashley has served on the Yoga Connection's Teacher Training staff since 2008 and teaches Astrology and Meditation as well. She began teaching Pilates in 2010.
Ashley is fortunate to have studied with so many inspirational teachers: Priscilla Potter, Sue Ferguson, Lilias Folan, Erich Schiffman, Goswami Kriyananda and Mirea Pineda. There is wisdom in the body that is both informed by and informs the mind, and there is something else... beyond the mind-body complex. It is through consistent practice and self study that we begin to become whole. This is the reason Ashley teaches and continues to be a student.
She was the Yoga Connection's studio manager until 2010, during which time she helped to develop numerous programs and expand studio offerings. Ashley has served on the Yoga Connection's Teacher Training staff since 2008 and teaches Astrology and Meditation as well. She began teaching Pilates in 2010.

Sarah Metz, RYT 200, LMT
Registered Yoga Teacher, Licensed Massage Therapist
Sarah completed her 200 hour level teacher training at The Yoga Connection in 2007. She specializes in Back Care and Restorative yoga and has been assisting with the Yoga Connection's Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program since 2009. She has also taught extensively in treatment and mental health facilities. Sarah is also a licensed massage therapist and practices traditional massage, polarity and craniosacral therapies. Yoga and massage are natural extensions of her deep curiosity of anatomy, physiology and movement of the human body.
